The Origins of S.E.A. Dragons
S.E.A. Dragons was born from a shared vision between Patryk Białowąs and Dylan Carpenter, two performance analysts who had already worked with football, rugby, and futsal clubs across Europe.
Together, they founded Scout Edge Analytics, a sports consultancy known for its innovative use of data, tactical insight, and applied sports science. After years of supporting elite teams on the pitch, they saw a gap, and an opportunity, to bring that same level of structure to esports.
Rather than simply offer consultancy services to esports organisations, Patryk and Dylan made the bold decision to build their own team. One that would not only compete, but set a new standard for what a performance-driven esports organisation could look like.
The result was S.E.A. Dragons, Wales' first fully data-driven esports team, founded in Brecon, Powys, and built from the ground up with the same tools used by professional athletes and coaches.
OUR STORY
Rooted in the hills of Mid-Wales, S.E.A. Dragons was launched outside of the usual esports hotspots, and that was no accident.
Brecon wasn't just a base of operations. It was home.
Although born in Ostróda, Poland, Patryk Białowąs grew up in Brecon, playing for local sports teams, attending Brecon High School, and even representing young people on the Brecon Town Council as Youth Representative.
At 16, he left Wales to pursue further education in England, but his roots remained firmly in Powys.
Years later, while serving as the Football Games Team Manager for Esports Wales, Patryk recognised a major gap:
❌ No teams from Powys were represented in the Welsh Esports League.
❌ No local players were breaking into the competitive scene.
✅ But the talent was here, it just needed opportunity and structure.
That became the spark behind S.E.A. Dragons.
Brecon represents:
A commitment to developing overlooked, rural talent
A belief that high performance can start anywhere
A chance to build something authentic, rooted in community
"The goal wasn't to follow the crowd — it was to pioneer something new."
— Patryk Białowąs, 2024

What They Brought With Them
Patryk and Dylan brought more than just experience, they brought a complete high-performance philosophy, adapted from traditional sport into esports:

Patryk is a data-driven performance specialist and former professional esports athlete. He is the founder of Scout Edge Analytics Ltd, a consultancy delivering elite-level video and data analysis across football, rugby, futsal, and esports.
With an academic background in Sport Performance Analysis at Cardiff Metropolitan University, one of the world's leading institutions for applied sports science, Patryk has led analysis departments and supported clubs across Europe. He also served as Football Games Team Manager for Esports Wales, where he identified the need for greater opportunities in rural areas, particularly his hometown of Brecon.
That vision became the foundation of S.E.A. Dragons, Wales' first fully data-driven esports team, created to bring structure, innovation, and high-performance culture to the competitive gaming space.
